一昨日の4月12日、Incredible Penguin新年度初ミーティングがありました。
そこで、初ミーティングを始めるにあたり、半年前の11月にニコニコ動画上にアップした
Frozen Tokyo Midtown
のニコニコ動画上での反応を皆で見ました。(リンク先はニコニコ動画にアップした動画です。)
中には評価してくださるコメントもあったのですが、色々と手厳しいコメントを頂いていました。
しかし、それでも半年で3000人以上の方に見てもらったことが、我々にとって一番評価に値することだと思います。
ニコニコ動画は視聴者の声を聞くのに優れたメディアです。その特性を活かして、このブログを読んでいらっしゃる方、または我々Incredible Penguinの活動を知った方が、ニコニコ動画上で評価してくださると、我々も次の活動に活かすことができます。
批判は真摯に受け止め、好意的な意見はエネルギーにして前進する。そうやってIncredible Penguinと一緒にメンバーも成長していけたらと思います。

桜の花
冬もおわり、もう暦の上では春になってから2週間程度が経っています。
でもまだまだ桜は咲かないんですねー。
もちろん、ここでいっている桜はソメイヨシノです。
日本人にとってもっともメジャーな桜であるソメイヨシノですが、実は約100年前にできた品種だってこと、ご存知でした？
それ以前の桜といえば今ではあまり見ることも少なくなった、山桜がほとんどだったそうです。
日本の和歌で詠まれる桜も、ほとんどは山桜だったとか。
この山桜も3～4月頃に咲くのですが、咲いている期間は長いそうです。
一瞬で散るのは美しい、とはいうけれど、できるだけ美しいものを長く見たいとも思いますよね。
素晴らしいものを、その瞬間にかけて、しかし、すぐには枯れないように。
桜の咲きはじめるだろう時期の我々のイタズラ、是非一緒にやりましょう！

creative集団
現在、六本木で第12回文化庁メディア芸術祭が開催されています。

マンガやエンターテイメントなど、日本のクリエイティブな作品が数多く紹介されている展示会です。
私はまだ見てはいないのですが、体験してきた友達の話では、相当面白いらしいので、期待しています。
私達の作品も、現在でてきたもの、これから作っていくもの、全てクリエイティブなものだと思います。
例えば、titanics
とってもアホなようですが、これもアホな企画としてはcreativeな作品のひとつといえるでしょう。
もちろんまだまだレベルは低い。

しかし、これから、どんどん、新しい企画を成功させていくにつれて、我々の集団としてのレベルも上がっていくでしょう。まずは経験から。

飛行機から学ぶこと(WHAT WE LEARN FROM AIRPLANE)
こんにちは、ジョニーこと小山です。
現在この記事を飛行機の機内で書いています。どういうことかって？実は今、実家のある福岡に帰省している真っ最中なのです。と、いうわけで、今回は空の上からお送りします。
飛行機に乗ると毎回思うことなのですが、この乗り物って本当に不思議ですよね。トンは軽く超えている金属の塊が、空を飛べるのです。そして、普段利用できる交通手段の中でもダントツに速い。福岡まで青春18切符ではほぼ1日かかったものが、飛行機では1時間30分程度。発明とは偉大なものです。
ところで、この飛行機、ってどうやって飛ぶか、ご存知ですか？一般的には、飛行機が加速することで、翼に揚力が生まれて空が飛べる、といわれています。つまり、この飛行機の形状であるからこそ、空が飛べる、ということですよね。同じ重さの金属の塊が、形を変えると空も飛べる。
同じエネルギーを費やして何かをする。その表現する形さえ工夫すれば、面白い価値を創出することができる。僕達Incredible Penguinも、大きなエネルギーを持っているわけだから、工夫しだいでどうにでもなるはず！飛行機から学べることがあるものです。
そうそう、飛行機から学べることがある、といえばもう1つ。実は飛行機が飛ぶ原理、って厳密にはわかっていないんだとか。渦が発生するとか、揚力以外にも色々な説があるそうです。でも、あの形状じゃなきゃ飛ばない。というよりも、あの形にしたら飛んだ。
案外、理由って後付けで問題ないようですね(笑)飛びそうだから作ってみたら飛んだ、というのが飛行機発明の原点なのかもしれません。ライト兄弟がどうやって発明したかを僕は知らないので、これは推測の域を出ませんが。面白いものも、理由とか考えていたら逆に面白くなくなるかも。行動してみることで、結果がついてくる良い例だと思っています。

Now I am writing this article on airplane. Wanna know why? Well actually, I am on the way to my parents’ house in Fukuoka. So here is my article, freshly delivered from high above the sky!
Every time I get on board on an airplane, I feel airplane is such a curious thing. A huge mass of metal, weighing well over a ton, flies in the air, and it is by far one of the fastest transportations among those we use on daily basis. It took almost a day traveling to Fukuoka by land, but this time it is going to take about an hour and a half by air. Invention, great.
By the way do you have any idea how an airplane flies? Generally, they say that as an airplane accelerates, lifting power emerges on its wings and it takes the body in to the air. That means, an airplane flies thanks to its shape. A mass of metal, if formed correctly, takes off into the air.
By spending the same amount of energy we create something meaningful. As long as we care about how we express it, we are able to create “value”. It all depends on us, Incredible Penguin, with huge power and energy! There is something we can learn from airplane.
Oh, and one more thing that is important. Actually it is said that the principle of the flight of an airplane is, strictly, yet to be solved. There are many hypothesises such as the power of whirlpool and so. But the only thing that is sure is that it does not fly without that very shape; it does fly in that shape.
Oh well, reasons can be made up after the result has come out! The origin of invention of an airplane might have been “I made it cuz it seemed like it would fly, and it actually did fly!”. This was no more than my empty assumption because I do not have any clues how on earth Light brothers invented an airplane. If we pursue origin or reason too much, it is going to ruin its fascination. I think this is a good example of action followed by appropriate result.

鮮度にもこだわります!!(KEEP IT FRESH!!)
この記事を書いている今、とっても気分がいいです♪こんなに蒸し暑い日なのに、なんで僕はこんなに気分がいいかって？(←聞いてないｗ)
実は今まで、映画を観ていたんですよ。最初はミスタービーンを見て、その後にロードオブザリング。とてもじゃないが、ミスマッチ(笑)前半は爆笑で後半は興奮。そしてそのまま、この記事を書いているわけです。そして、この記事を書きながら、さらにノリノリな洋楽を聞いています！かかっているのはクリスティーナ・アギレラの曲です。この記事を書くのも楽しいですが、気分がいいと、もっと楽しくなるというものです。
ところで、数十年前の映画、ってみたことありますか？それらの映画って、脚本とか、演技とかは全然問題ないし、面白いんですよ。でも残念なことに演出が…。特に音楽とか。例えば、悪役との、緊張の格闘シーンなのに、BGMなしで戦ってたりとか。観客からみたら、どこか間抜けに見えてしまいます(笑)とっても内容は面白いのに、十分アピールしきれてない!!なんだか、もどかしさすら感じます。
映画だけじゃなく、身近な所ではYoutubeにも面白い動画をよく見かけます。色々な挑戦とか、バカバカしいこととか。これらの面白い動画、ってほとんど例外なくBGMが内容と合ってますよね！演出が上手いなぁ、と感心することもしばしば。とはいえ、そんなことを気にしないでいつも見ているのですが(笑)
僕達のイタズラも世界中の皆さんに見ていただくために、Youtubeにアップロードするつもりです。もちろん、イタズラの質は最高級をお届けします！でも、その面白さを100％伝えるためには、内容だけじゃ足りないですよね。届ける方法も考えないと！例えば、僕達が触発された団体、「Improv Everywhere」のイタズラ動画とか見ていただくと分かると思うのですが、彼らの演出って上手いですね。僕達Incredible Penguinも面白いことやるよ、って宣言してるわけだから、観客の皆さんに届くまで最高の面白さをキープ。つまり、面白さの鮮度は抜群で(笑)だから、届ける方法も面白く！僕達は、「最高に面白い」を常に考えます。期待していてくださいね。

I am feeling very happy right now! Why am I feeling so good on such a hot and humid day? Let me explain then.
I have been watching a movie till now. At first I have watched “Mr. Bean” and then “The Lord o the Rings”. I know, it is such a random choice! Laughter in the beginning, excitement in the end, and here I am, writing this article. Now I am listening to Christina Aguilera. Writing articles for this blog itself is fun, but good mood make it even more fun.
By the way, have you ever seen films from a few decades ago? Those films are okay, I mean the script, the acting and so, but the problem is the stage direction. The music is worst. For instance in a tense scene where the main characters fight against heavy, no music is played. It somehow seems fool without music. Even if the content is good, it is often not made in to a “film” good enough. It even makes me feel irritated.
I am not only referring to films. In YouTube, I find many funny videos, filming various challenges and silly stuff. Those funny videos have one thing in common: the content fits its music really well. I am often impressed by its harmony. Well for most of the time, I do not worry about it too much though!
As for our mischief, we are going to upload them on YouTube so anyone can see from any place on earth. Of course, I guarantee on its quality! However to fully deliver its content, just the “content” is not good enough. We also have to think about how to deliver it. You will see what I mean If you can see the movies from “Improv Everywhere”, inspiring and triggering the foundation of our organization. As we, Incredible Penguin, are advertising that we are doing something funny, we should keep it in its best shape until it is delivered to you, the audience. We are going to “keep it fresh”! Delivery should be funny too, right? We are always aiming for “first-class funniness”. Be looking forward to it!
