2009年度始動！

こんにちは！
新年度になりましたね。

僕らメンバーの中には、大学が春休みということで、メンバーのうち5人はアジア旅行に行ったりとごたごたしてて、
ついつい更新が滞ってしまいました。すみません。

今日12日(日)は、Incredible Penguin、2009年度1回目のMtgです！

朝早く、こんな感じでの更新にはなりますが、
今日は、僕の友人たち(I.P.のメンバーはほとんど来てました)とホテルニューオータニ東京で新年度会なるものをやってて、
今オータニからの更新です！



時間があるので、
2008年度のMissionの全動画を再度観てみました。

2009年度も頑張ろう、そう思えました！

忙しいという言葉。

ほんとうは、8日に投稿の予定だったんですが、

なんだかんだで今日になってしまいました。

今日、東京は雨です。

雨は嫌な気分になるかもしれないですね、実際僕もあまり好きではなかったです。

でも、夜中に雨の降る中、バーで飲むってのは洒落てていいなって最近思いました。

僕もようやく先月二十歳になったので、そういう楽しみもこれからじっくり学んで生きたいです(笑)。

さて、そんなオトナの時間を覚え始めた僕ですが(笑)、

先輩と最近忙しいという言葉について話したんです。

忙しいという漢字は、

りっしんべんに亡くす、と書きます。

りっしんべんは、心を表すへんなのだそうです。

それを亡くすと書くのだから、忙しいという状態は、

心を失っていて、とてもまずい状況なのだ、という話です。

世の中、いろんなことが溢れていて、

まぁそれだからこそ、楽しかったり、悲しかったりもしますが、

心を失う、

忙しいとだけはあまり言いたくないものです。

今日は、そんなことをふと思ったりした雨の一日でした。

週末のMissionは、楽しんでいきましょー！

ハタチ。

お久しぶりです、古賀です。
本当は昨夜書かなくちゃだったんですが、どたばたしててこんなに遅くなってしまってすみません。

突然なんですが…、
実はぼく、18日(水)をもって、二十歳になりました！

たくさんの人に支えられてここまで来れたことをとてもうれしく思ってます！
誕生日前夜、つまり、10代最後の夜には、友人たちと楽しく食事をしたんですが、
そこには、I.P　メンバーの晋くんや矢部くんの姿もありました。

そして、矢部くんからは、梅佳代さんという方の写真集をプレゼントとしてもらっちゃいました～！

この写真、さすが、矢部チョイスなだけあって、面白い写真がてんこもりなんですね。

白目をむいた赤ちゃんの写真や、おんぶされた犬の写真などなど。。

面白写真の数々をたまに眺めながら、しんどいときこそ、不敵に笑う。そんな二十歳を過ごしたいなって思いました。

日々の疲れを吹き飛ばす笑いたち。
そんな現代人へのクスリをこれからも処方し続けていけたらいいですね。

3月のMissionがんばりましょう！！

あけましておめでとうございます。

こんばんは！

2009年になりました。かなり久しぶりですね。
更新が滞ってすみませんでした。Incredible Penguin(以下、I.P.)の古賀です。

以前記事がアップされてから様々なことがI.P.には起きました。
ひとつは、Mission、Titanicsを実行したことです。これはあとでProject Leaderの矢部くんが記事で書いてくれると思いますが、I.P.のメンバーみんなでいたずら慣れしようと意図して行ったもので、出来上がった動画を見てみると、その場にいなかった僕にもその場を想像できクスっと笑ってしまうような、そんないたずらでした。

また、もうひとつは、昨年末から議題として挙がっている2008年度最終Missionについてです。
まだ内容については伏せておきますが、先週のSkype MtgにてMissionの内容は決まりました。と同時に今回のProject Leaderも高橋くんに決まりました。彼もあとで記事を書いてくれることになっていますのでお楽しみに。

年が変わり、2009年となって我らがIncredible Penguinも新たな節目を迎えようとしています。
「Frozen Beer Garden」「Frozen Tokyo Midtown」「Titanics」「？？？」と走ってきた僕らですが、2009年になっても、僕らのMissionである「新たなMissionを開発し、それを世界に発信する」ということを追求していくと共に、「面白いこと可笑しいことに真剣に取り組んで、みんなで楽しめるようなことをしでかしてやろう」という気持ちで日々取り組んでこうと思います。

2009年もそんなIncredible Penguinをどうぞよろしくお願いします。

休暇(VACATION)

こんにちは！

皆さんは、今どんな夏休みを過ごしていますか？
夏休みがないという人もいるかもしれません。夏休み中、ずーっと遊んでいるという人もいるかもしれません。それは様々だろうと思います。

さて、今回は僕の夏休みを紹介しましょう。
まず、期間ですが、７月と８月の丸々２ヶ月が僕の夏休みです。
普段まとまった時間をとることができないため、夏休みが始まってすぐは、読書やスポーツなど、自分の時間として過ごしました。
半ばに入ってからは、福岡へ帰省し、「日本の次世代リーダー養成塾」のボランティアに行きました。これは、人のために使う時間、ですね。

僕は昨日、福岡からつくばへ戻ってきました。「人のために使う時間」は終わりというわけです。
夏休みも、残り約３週間。夏休みの後半をどのように使うかは、もちろん僕次第ではありますが、読書をしたり語学の勉強をしたりと、机に向かう時間にしたいと思っています。「自己成長のための時間」とでも言えるかもしれません。

僕はこれまで、文学作品と呼ばれるようなものに触れる機会がとても少なかったです。なので、大学時代は、積極的に文学に触れたいなと思って過ごしています。
せっかくのまとまった時間だし、一日中机について、文学と戯れるのもいいかもしれませんよね。

これまで触れなかったものに触れることで、発想が豊かになるだろうし、それによって面白い悪戯の一つでも浮かぶかもしれません。
日比谷焼き討ち事件について触れられていた本を読んで思い出しましたが、知人の学友が日比谷焼き討ち事件の日に、松明を持って日比谷高校に侵入するという悪戯をやったそうです。もちろん、これは悪戯として片付けられるものではありませんが…。
自由な発想で以て、自分が面白いと思える良質な悪戯を追求していきたいものです。

皆さんは、空いた時間があるとき、その時間をどのように使いますか？どのように使うのか、なぜそのように使うのか、考えて時間を使っていますか？

自分の大切な時間だからこそ、きちんと考えて使いたいものです。

Hello!

How is your summer vacation going right now? Maybe some have no summer vacation, and some are planning to fool around all the way until school starts again. It’s all up to you.

Today I would like to talk about my summer vacation.

First of all, my vacation this year lasts two whole months, July and August. As I always keep myself busy and now that I have quite an amount of time, I devoted much time to reading and exercising at the beginning of my vacation. I was using time for my own good.

In the middle of the summer, I went back to my hometown, Fukuoka, in order to participate in a summer school, offering highest education to next leaders in Japan, as a volunteer staff. This was the time used for others.

I came back from Fukuoka to Tsukuba yesterday, and this means the time used for others is now over. I have three weeks left before university starts again. It is up to me how to spend the rest of my summer vacation. I will probably do some more reading, or studying foreign language, in any case I would be sitting in front of my desk because I want the rest of my free time to be spent for “self-development”. I have hardly read literary writings so far, so I am eager to read them while I am in university. Now that I am free from all the bonds of school work, it may be a great idea to spend whole day reading literature.

My way of thinking would be stimulated by experiencing the unknown, and I might get a new idea of mischief or something.

I have been reading a book on Hibiya-Yakiuchi incident and that made me remember a story my friend once told me. A friend of his broke into Hibiya high school with a pine torch on the day of Hibiya-Yakiuchi incident. Well I think this is too much to be called a mischief, but anyway… I am hoping to pursue and enjoy high-quality mischief without any mental bindings.

So how would you like to spend your free time? Do you use your time thinking how and why you should use that way?

Your time is limited. It is worth your thinking.

福岡での夏。(MY SUMMER IN FUKUOKA)

こんにちは！

僕は今、実家のある福岡に帰省しています。先週から福岡にいるのですが、帰省以外の目的があります。それは僕が３年前に参加した「日本の次世代リーダー養成塾」というサマーキャンプのお手伝いをすることです。簡単にこのサマーキャンプを説明すると、各界の第一線でご活躍されている「リーダー」と呼ばれるような人物たちの講義を聴いたり、全国から集まってきた高校生たちと議論しあったりするというようなものです。

因みに、Incredible Penguinのメンバーの大半は、期は違えど、この研修繋がりの仲間でもあります。3年前に出会った仲間たちと高校を卒業した今でもこうして一緒になってオモシロイコトを追求する、素敵だと思いませんか？

そんな思い入れのある研修のお手伝いに、I.P.メンバーの渡邊くんとお手伝いに来ている僕ですが、2週間の間、しっかりI.P.の広報にも走り回りたいと思っています！　普段関わることのない高校生たちが、どういったものに今関心があるのか、彼らだったらどんなイタズラを思いつくのか、などなど聞いてきます。

話は変わりますが、最後に、最近 いいな！と思ったイタズラを紹介したいと思います。

それは、Improv Everywhereが行った、「Human Mirror」というMissionです！

このMissionは、15組の一卵性双生児(?)が地下鉄の列車内で文字通り"人間の鏡"を作る、というものなのですが、言葉で説明するよりは、下の動画をご覧になられた方がはやいでしょう。

実は、僕はこれをはじめ見たとき、一目で「あっ、やられた！」と思ってしまいました。なぜなら、このMissionが面白すぎたからです…。

僕は、こんなMissionをIncredible Penguinを通して追求していけたらな、と日々思っています。何も知らずに見た人が、一目で「面白い！」と感じてしまう。何らかのイタズラをやってみたいなと思っている遊び心に溢れた人ならば、すぐに、「これをマネでもいいからやってみたい！」と思わせるような。

これまで行われていないMissionを実行し、世界に発信するという目的がある以上、同じ「Human Mirror」をやることはないでしょう。でも、一目見た人が、これすごいなっと思えるようなMissionをこれからも追求していき、「Human Mirror」を超える面白さのMissionを実行していきたいと思います。

MY SUMMER IN FUKUOKA

Hello!

I am now back in my home town, Fukuoka. I came back last week and there is another reason for me being here except homecoming. I am here to help a summer school, educating next leaders in Japan, in which I took part three years ago. To briefly explain it, we invite those who are considered to be leaders from various fields and audit their lectures, and we also gather high school students from all around Japan to discuss today’s problems.

Most of the members of Incredible Penguin are, may they be different in what year they participated in the summer camp, the graduates of this course. Those who met three years ago still get together and make something happen. Isn’t it so cool?

Now that I am in Fukuoka to help running the summer camp with one of the I.P. member, Watanabe-kun, I am going to literally run around to familiarize Incredible Penguin to the participants. I am going to ask them what they are interested in now, and what mischief they would want to try, etc.

Now, change of subject. I would like to introduce one mischief that caught my eyes from “Improv Everywhere”, called “Human Mirror”.

This mission is to literally make a human mirror by using fifteen pairs of identical twins on a metro. I think it is easier if you can see the video below.

Frankly speaking, I was amazed and shocked when I first watched the video because it was very funny!

I myself hope to pursuit this kind of mission through Incredible Penguin. Such that makes the audience knowing nothing find it entertaining. Such that makes those with mischievous mind want to actually try it.

As long as we have this purpose to make missions happen and to deliver them to all around the world, we are not going to merely mimic “Human Mirror”. We are going to pursuit the missions that amaze the passing-by audience, that goes beyond “Human Mirror” in terms of quality.

Incredible Penguinとは。(What is "Incredible Penguin"?)

初めまして！

ここは、「Incredible Penguin」という団体のBlogです。週に一度集まっている僕らですが、その僕らの「作品」を発信する場の一つとして、また、Misssionがどのように進んでいるのか等、ここでお伝えしていけたらと思います。

さて、とはいっても、そもそも「Incredible Penguin」ってのは何なんだ?!と思った方がほとんどだと思います。

では、初回なので、簡単な説明をしていきます！

僕らは、アメリカのNYを中心に活動している団体「Improv Everywhere」に刺激を受けてスタートした集まりです。中でも、「Frozen Grand Central」という彼らが行ったMissionに惹かれました。

「Frozen Grand Central」は、簡単に説明すると、駅構内で人々の動きが突然同じタイミングで止まる、というものです。もちろん、タネも仕掛けもあります。「Improv Everywhere」のAgents(この時は207人!!)がそれを行ったのです。

5分間動きを止めたのですが、Agents以外の一般通行人たちの驚いた反応はとても面白いものでした。

想像できますか？　街中で突然、人々の動きが止まれば、あたかも時間が止まったかのような錯覚に陥ることでしょう。動いていることがアタリマエな場で、その場に似つかわしくない"静"を作り出していること。面白いですよね☆

「Incredible Penguin」は、いろいろな表現はできますが、「面白いこと、可笑しいこと、それを真剣に取り組んでみて、みんなで楽しめるようなことをしでかしてやろう」と思った学生たちの集まりです。

当初、日本で学生を集めて「Frozen in Tokyo」をやってやろうと思いましたが、同じことをやるのは価値が低いので、さらに面白いことを追求していこうと考えは変わりました。

「Incredible Penguin」の目的は、

・ これまでにない、新たなMissionを開発する 。
・Improve Everywhereとつながり、結果を世界に発信する。

と要約できます。

これから先、この場で様々なMissionを紹介していきますので、どうぞ宜しく！！

次回以降は、Missionの進捗状況、そしてMemberの話、を記していきたいと思います。

Hello!

This is the blog of an organization called "Incredible Penguin". We, meeting up once a week, are planning to upload our "work" and update how our Mission is going on.

Now, however, we guess most of you have no idea what "Incredible Penguin" really is.

As this is the first article of this blog, we are going to give you a brief explanation about us.

Foundation of "Incredible Penguin" was triggered by the organization called "Improv Everywhere" with its base in New York. Among their missions, one named "Frozen Grand Central" fascinated and inspired us greatly.

"Frozen Grand Central" is in short, a strange phenomenon of people suddenly stopping (as if they are frozen) at the same time in a train station. Of course, there are a lot of tricks to it. The agents of "Improv Everywhere" (207 agents took part!) did it. They froze for five minutes, and the reaction of surprised ordinary passengers was really interesting.

Can you imagine the scene? It should feel as if the time stopped passing if all of a sudden people come to a complete standstill. Creating "standstill" or "silence" that seems so ill-matched to the situation where everybody should continuously be moving... Isn't that something?

"Incredible Penguin" can be explained and described in many ways, but to briefly summarize, it is a group of students wishing to "plan something interesting and funny in earnest and organize what we all can enjoy."

In the beginning, we thought of doing "Frozen in Tokyo", gathering students in Japan. However, we came to conclude that copying is of no fun and no value, so we decided to pursue something more interesting.

The aims of "Incredible Penguin" can be summarized as follows.

・To develop new Missions no one has ever come up with.
・To be connected with "Improv Everywhere" and to send out our results all over the world.

We are going to introduce various Missions using this blog. So please stay with us and enjoy our company!
